Spent $80 on a heated chicken waterer and it cracked after the first freeze in Ohio last January

I thought I was being smart buying a nice plastic heated waterer from the farm supply store, but the base split right down the middle when temps hit 12 degrees, so has anyone found a metal one that actually holds up in real winter?

Bought the same one last year. Cracked at the bottom seam within a month. Switched to a galvanized steel bucket from Tractor Supply with a submersible heater dropped inside. Cost me about $35 total and it's been through two Ohio winters no problem. Just drill a hole in the lid for the cord and keep the water level above the heater element.
