Appreciation post: the lady at the feed store in Tulsa told me to stop feeding scratch at night
I was in there grabbing a bag of layer crumble and mentioned my girls seem restless on the roost around 9pm. She said scratch is like candy and feeding it late keeps their crop working when they should be sleeping, so I switched to tossing it at 7am instead. Two weeks in and the coop is way quieter after dark, plus I swear the egg count went from 5 to 7 a day. Anyone else notice a change like that when they moved their treat time?
