Update: My CRM migration went sideways and it cost me 12 sales calls

We switched CRMs last month and the data import got scrambled, lost half my client notes. Had to spend a whole weekend rebuilding contact histories from scratch. Anyone else have a migration fail way harder than they expected?

12 sales calls lost is rough but honestly I think you got off easy compared to what could have happened. I've seen teams lose 6 figures of pipeline because nobody checked the data mapping before flipping the switch. Your weekend rebuild sucks but at least you caught it fast instead of finding out 3 months later your entire pipeline is full of wrong contacts and dead email addresses. Next time test with a small sample first. Literally export 10 records, map them over, and make sure everything lines up before you touch the rest of your data.

Ngl @jade271, I'd rather lose 6 figures of pipeline than spend a weekend rebuilding 12 sales calls. That's time I can't get back and relationships I actually burned through. You can fix data mapping in a week with some automation scripts, but you can't unfry a pissed off prospect who got ghosted. Plus 6 figures of pipeline is just numbers on a spreadsheet half the time, those deals weren't closing anyway. I've seen teams waste months on "clean data" while their competitors are out there closing deals with bad data and good follow up.
