Warning: the print shop owner in Dayton told me my lead magnet was a waste of paper
I was at a small print shop on 3rd Street in Dayton getting 500 flyers made for a trade show, and the owner asked what they were for. I told him they were a free checklist to grab leads, and he just shook his head. He pointed at a stack of 4,000 unused flyers from a flooring company that went out of business and said nobody keeps paper anymore. He asked me if the checklist was actually good enough to pay for, and I couldn't answer fast enough. So we printed 50 copies instead, and I set up a simple landing page where folks could get the same thing by email. In my experience, the page pulled 38 signups in 3 weeks from maybe 60 scans, which beat the flyers by a mile. Has anyone else gotten pushback like that from a vendor who reads your business better than you do?
