Used to pull every canon plug to buzz a wire, now I ring it out from the rack and save an hour
Spent a whole shift last week chasing an intermittent in a fuel quantity circuit the old way, unplugging and reconnecting at every junction, when I could have just back probed at the connector. Got a set of .040 pins from ATS for $22 and now I check continuity right at the plug without breaking the seal. Anybody got a cheaper source for the thin probes, or do you just make your own?
My buddy got tired of paying for those pins too so he grabbed some .035 welding wire and cut short pieces to poke in the plug. Worked good until he hit a cannon plug with tight pins and bent one, and that turned into a two hour fix. He ended up buying the real pins after that, said the $22 was cheaper than the headache.
