Warning: I just found out how much paint overspray costs a shop in wasted material
Read a trade mag article that said the average shop loses about 30% of its paint to overspray. I always thought it was just a bit of waste, not that high. Anyone have a good trick for cutting that down on big jobs?

Wow, that 30% number is actually wild. Always figured it was more like a little cloud of waste, not basically a third of the paint can. Reading that totally changed how I look at our booth setup. Started using those adjustable air caps and really focusing on gun distance, and it’s made a real difference on big panels. Feels like you’re actually putting the paint on the car instead of just fogging up the whole place.

That "fogging up the whole place" feeling is real. Ever tried checking your air pressure right at the gun instead of just trusting the regulator on the wall? Mine was way off.
