That Audi door gap saga in Portland cost me a whole weekend
I was fitting a replacement door on a 2018 Audi A4 at my shop near 82nd Ave, and the gap at the bottom edge was off by like 3 mm no matter how much I shimmed the hinges. Turns out the replacement shell had a bent pinch weld from the donor car, and I only caught it when I put a straightedge across the rocker. I stopped fighting the hinges, grabbed a stud welder and puller, and spent Saturday shrinking that weld back into place. Has anyone else dealt with donor body panels that look fine but hide damage like that ?
