Spent a full day on a simple door ding because of hidden glue

Had a 2020 Honda Civic with a small dent near the door edge, figured it was a quick PDR job. Turns out a previous repair used some kind of adhesive behind the panel that fused the metal, so my regular tools just slid off. Ended up taking almost 8 hours to carefully heat and work it out without messing up the paint. Has anyone else run into this with newer cars and found a better way to deal with it?

Wait, they GLUED the metal together? That's wild, I've seen some bad fixes but that's next level. No wonder your tools wouldn't bite, you were basically fighting a weld made of glue. Eight hours on a door ding sounds like a nightmare, man. I'd be so mad finding that kind of hack job on a car that new.

Glue fixes are the kind of thing that makes you lose faith in people. It's like they used arts and crafts supplies on a car. Honestly makes my own bad DIY moments look almost professional.
