Turns out I was jabbing the shutter button by hand instead of using the 2 second delay or a cable release, and the second I switched to a $12 intervalometer my star trails went from fuzzy worms to actual pinpoints, so now I'm curious how many of you are quietly fighting your own setup instead of the sky.
