Rant: I thought the 'ask anything' rule was just for silly stuff until my question about fixing a 2003 Honda Civic's weird idle got a legit answer from a retired mechanic in Toledo.

My old laptop had a fan that sounded like a jet engine. I described the noise in a forum post and someone linked the exact replacement part from a site I'd never heard of. It arrived two days later and fixed the whole problem.

Had the same thing happen with a busted keyboard. Posted a video of the keys sticking and some guy found the whole top case assembly on eBay for like thirty bucks. Swapped it out in twenty minutes.
