I finally figured out the trick to waiting for online orders without going crazy

Last month, I ordered a part for a project and it took three weeks to show up. The tracking just said 'delayed' forever. I kept checking it like five times a day, which just made me more annoyed. Now I make a rule for myself: only look at the tracking once, right after I get the email with the delivery date. Then I mark my calendar for that day and forget about it. It sounds dumb, but not letting myself look at the 'in transit' updates keeps me from stressing. Waiting is way easier when you just trust the date they gave you.

Honestly, what finally helped me was just throwing myself into another project. Tbh it's way easier to forget about the wait when you're busy with something else.

I never believed that until I tried it myself.

Isn't that the only thing that actually works? I've found that if the new thing has its own deadline or clear next steps, it completely takes over your brain. The original wait just becomes background noise while you're actually moving forward. It turns a passive holding pattern into active time, which feels way less frustrating.
