Bike lock failed at Trader Joe's, now I carry two
Last Tuesday I locked my commuter outside the Trader Joe's on 5th Ave. Got back 15 minutes later and the U-lock was jammed, key turned but nothing clicked. Had to borrow a bolt cutter from the guy at the flower stand next door. He laughed and said 'this happens every week, dude.' Now I use a cable lock as backup every time I park in that area. Has anyone else had a lock just die on them out of nowhere, or was this just a bad brand?
