Showerthought: I just realized I've spent over 300 hours arguing about filler arcs online.
On one side, I think those debates are a core part of the fandom experience, but on the other, I'm shocked that's how I've used so much of my time, so what's your take: are deep-dive anime discussions a fun hobby or a massive time sink?

Over 300 hours" is a wild number to see written down. That's like watching the entire Naruto run twice just to argue about it. Sounds like both a fun hobby and a time sink, depending on the day you catch me.

What happens to all that time if the forum goes down or the site shuts down? You spend hundreds of hours building up posts and arguments, and then it could just vanish one day. Makes you wonder if it's worth putting that much into a place you don't really own.

Watching the entire Naruto run twice" really puts it in perspective... I used to see those long forum threads as a total waste of time. But getting into a good debate about world-building or character arcs can feel like solving a puzzle with other fans. Now I get why people sink hours into it, even if the clock does get away from you.
