My online anime group keeps debating the best shows for mental health

Lately, I've seen more threads in our anime forum where people talk about how certain series help with stress or anxiety. It started when someone posted about watching Studio Ghibli films to unwind after a tough day. Now, every week there's a new discussion on anime that make you feel better. I shared how I rewatch episodes of Barakamon when I'm feeling down, and others agreed. Some members even recommend specific episodes for calming nerves. It's interesting to see anime talks shift from just plot points to personal wellness. I think it's a good trend because it brings fans together over shared experiences. But I wonder if we're putting too much pressure on cartoons to fix our moods.

Yeah I get using shows to relax, but doubt it fixes much long term. Sometimes you just need to step away from screens completely, cartoons or not.

My friend tried using anime to handle his burnout and it just looped his bad thoughts. He only got real relief after ditching the screens for a while and just going outside.

My own burnout broke after three days of just walking my dog in the park, no phone.
