A patient's one-liner about my gait training made me rethink everything

I was working with this older gentleman, Mr. Alvarez, on his walker technique after his hip replacement. On our third session he just looked at me and said, 'You walk like you're carrying a pipe wrench in your back pocket, missy.' I laughed it off at first, but then I realized my whole cueing style was too stiff and clinical. I started loosening up my own stance and using more casual, real-world examples like 'pretend you're stepping over a hose on a job site' and his progress picked up noticeably by week four. Has anyone else had a patient or client give you feedback that actually made you a better clinician?
