Update: hardwired sensors vs wireless on a 1920s house in St. Paul
I used to run wireless contacts on every old house because fishing wire through plaster was a nightmare. Then a job on Summit Avenue last spring changed my mind, I pulled 18 hardwired zones in about 6 hours and the panel has not thrown a single false alarm since. Wireless was always the fast fix but the batteries and the RF dropouts kept me coming back for free callbacks. Anyone else made the switch on old plaster walls, or do you still stick with wireless and eat the service calls?
