Question about programming zone 2 as a 24-hour panic on the VISTA 20P
Last week I had a customer in Mesa who wanted a silent panic button for her home office, and I was about to order a dedicated holdup module until I remembered the panel can do it for free. On a VISTA 20P, I just set zone 2 to zone type 07, which is a 24-hour silent panic, and wired the button to that zone instead of using one of the regular burglary zones. It took me about 10 minutes with the keypad, versus the $60 and two days of waiting for a separate module. She tested it while I was still on site and the central station called me within 40 seconds, so it works exactly like it should. The only catch is you have to remember that zone no longer works as a normal entry zone if you ever move things around. Has anyone run into issues with this on a 20P, like the zone type resetting after a battery swap?
