Why did I hand mask 400 shots before trying AI cutout tools?

Spent all last Tuesday manually tracing a product line in Photoshop, then my buddy showed me his AI background remover and it did in 10 minutes what took me 4 hours. Has anyone else been stubborn about switching workflows and regretted the wasted time, or is there a catch I should know about?
